World Music with a Universal Spirit

Aeroterra is an eclectic world-beat band based in Corvallis, Oregon. Aeroterra's music spans a century of styles, from hot jazz and cool ballads to tropical dance sounds and eco-folk-rock. Aeroterra draws material from Africa, Europe, and the Americas. The band applies its unique styling to traditional music as well as high-spritied songs by the Beatles, Sarah McLaghlan, Peter Gabriel, Laura Love, Beth Neilsen Chapman, Ben Harper, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Paul Simon, and others... including members of Aeroterra. This musical mishmash is tied together by uncommonly beautiful vocal harmonies soaring over solid world-beat rhythms.
Elizabeth Wyatt, Shelley Willis, and Micki Reaman also perform with the acapella group Absolute; they bring their highly-refined harmonic beauty to Aeroterra. Other band members-George Beekman, Jimmy Falkner, and Kristin Latham-draw on their rhythmic and harmonic experiences in a variety of jazz, rock, folk, and world-beat bands. The band's musical toolbox includes voices, guitars, keyboard, bass, a variety of drums and percussion, and a dash of electronica.
Recent Aeroterra appearances include Da Vinci Days, Oregon State University World Beat Festival, the Corvallis Earth Faire, and the 2006 Solar Creek Benefit Concert.
Aeroterra is now booking concerts, festivals, fund-raisers, and dances for 2006. For more information, email aeroterra@iconfluence.com.
